How to play BDMV Folder on Mac

BDMV refers to Blu-ray Disc Movie Information File, which is one format of BD-ROM, one of the Blu-ray disc specifications. BDMV is created by using a valid BDMV video folder. It contains the information about the video and audio contents of the Blu-ray disc and is located at the root level of the disc. Besides, BDMV discs normally include interactive menus using BD-J (Blu-ray's Java implementation), which make it possible to include menus on the disc. It supports HD video like 720p (1280x720 Progressive), 1080i (1920x1080 Interlaced), and 1080p (1920x1080 Progressive).

BDMV is the latest video recording format that makes it possible to include menu on the disc, but it is currently not compatible with all Blu-ray Disc players. Now, you may wonder which player can play BDMV Folder. Don’t worry since Macgo Software has released Mac Blu-ray Player, which is the best BDMV Player software for Mac.

Run Mac Blu-ray Player and drag the whole folder to Mac Blu-ray Player screen.

After some seconds of loading, you will see the navigation panel. You can double click
“Play Movie” button to play the movie directly, or select a chapter or title to play.

Option 2: Open Blu-ray Folder directly (the BDMV Folder is on the Disc).

1) Setting

Before you play BDMV Folder, you need to make some settings. Open “Preferences” under “Mac Blu-ray Player”.

Click on the “Playback” option, and there are five “Behaviors” you can manage. Uncheck “Auto play when you insert disc” and “Auto play existed disc when launch application”, then click “OK”. Macgo Mac Blu-ray Player won’t auto play when you insert a disc.

2) Connect a Blu-ray Drive

A Blu-ray drive is necessary. You can get one from Amazon online or in the store. The USB of the driver should be above 2.0. Then connect the drive to your Mac via a USB connection.

3) Open the BDMV Folder

There are two buttons in the center of the interface: "Open File" and "Open Disc".

Press "Open Disc" button and choose “Open Folder” Portfolio.

Then choose the Blu-ray first-level directory instead of BDMV or CERTIFICATE.

4) Playback

After some seconds of loading, it will enter the navigation panel. You can do the same as option one.

Finally, you can enjoy the whole BDMV Folder. Pretty easy, huh?
